Work with me one on one, either in your home or through HIPAA compliant video software accessible by computer or phone. As suggested, individual counseling is about you, is tailored to your specific needs, and is typically focused on managing the effects of diagnosed conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD and the like. Treatment includes identifying your goals and creating therapeutic interventions designed to help you meet those goals, as well as monitoring progress along the way and adjusting as needed.
Family therapy is beneficial in addressing interpersonal dynamics such as parent-child conflict or sibling conflict. It's also extremely useful when working with very young children, as the therapist can assist parents with insight to the child's behavior and how best to meet their needs.
Do you and your partner struggle to communicate? Is there a seemingly insurmountable conflict? Let me help you navigate the complexities of your relationship and create a healthy, fulfilling partnership.
According to Jon Kabat Zinn, mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally, and it involves being more than doing. When we can simply "be with" how we're feeling and what we're thinking, without the judgement of good or bad, it allows for awareness, insight, and conscious choice rather than emotional reactivity, and can help replace confusion with clarity.
The newest service I am offering is group meditation and mindfulness practices. We're all familiar with the "parties" of the past...tupperware, home interior...and currently, paint parties. Why not get a group of friends together for a meditation party? Experience peace, relaxation, mindset growth, connection, and learn mindfulness techniques with a group of your favorite people.
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help a client reach a trance-like state of focus, concentration, diminished peripheral awareness, and heightened suggestibility. This state is similar to being completely absorbed in a book, movie, music, or even one's own thoughts or meditations. In it, a person is unusually responsive to an idea or image, but they are not under anyone’s “control.” Instead, a trained clinical hypnotherapist can help clients in this state relax and turn their attention inward to discover and utilize resources within themselves that can help them achieve desired behavioral changes or better manage pain or other physical concerns. Eventually, a client learns how to address their states of awareness on their own and in doing so, gain greater control of their physical and psychological responses.
The American Psychological Association and American Medical Association have recognized hypnotherapy as a valid procedure since 1958, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has recommended it as a treatment for chronic pain since 1995. (directly quoted from Psychology Today website)
Life coaching is similar to counseling but there are some key differences. While life coaching can assist with the symptoms of depression and anxiety, it does not directly treat mental health conditions. Coaching does not involve diagnosing and is not billable to insurance. As a life coach, I will empower you to expand your thinking to generate your own ideas about navigating your circumstances. As Marcus Aurelius said, "Our life is what our thoughts make it." Life coaching can help you manage your thoughts, which affect your actions, to create the life you desire.
This service is available to other therapists, attorneys, physicians, pastors and other professionals who could benefit from psychological insight in a particular situation. Please contact me for further information.
